What is included
A private chauffeur for the whole evening, pickup at your hotel or address in Tromsø, warm and comfortable seats in a Mercedes-Benz V-Class, and a driver who reads the cloud cover and geomagnetic forecast live. We stop where the sky opens up, help you with camera settings and give you time to simply look up. The tour lasts about 4–5 hours and ends back at your accommodation.

All aurora chases depart at 19:00, when it is fully dark and the aurora activity typically builds. You choose the date; we handle the timing. Because the car is yours, we can stay longer at a good spot or move on quickly when the clouds roll in – no waiting for other groups.

Choose the Private Aurora Chase for the classic evening, or the Aurora Chase with Warranty: if we do not see the northern lights on your tour, you can join a later chase free of charge. Both are private, both use the same vehicle and local chauffeurs, and both are priced per person for up to 6 guests.

Small group, flexible route, no fixed photo stops. Our chauffeurs are born and raised in Tromsø, speak Norwegian and English, and know the back roads that stay dark and sheltered from the wind. Dress warmly in layers, bring a tripod if you have one, and let us do the driving on winter roads.

Frequently asked questions
When is the best time to see the northern lights in Tromsø?
The season runs from September to early April. The darkest months, November to February, give the longest window, but clear skies matter more than the month – which is why we chase.
Where do you pick us up?
At your hotel, apartment or any address in Tromsø. Enter the pickup address when you book and we will be outside at 19:00.
How many people can join?
Up to 6 guests in one Mercedes-Benz V-Class. The price is per person; the car is always private to your party.
What if the northern lights do not show?
Nature decides, but we maximise the odds by driving to the clearest sky. Choose the Aurora Chase with Warranty and you may join a later chase free of charge if we see nothing.
What should we wear?
Layers: thermal underwear, wool, a windproof jacket, warm boots, hat and gloves. Winter temperatures at the stops can be well below -10 °C.
How do I pay?
Securely online by card when you book. You receive a confirmation e-mail immediately and a reminder the evening before with your chauffeur's name and phone number.
